Abstract

The results of the removal of Cu (II) and Fe (III) heavy metals from individual, mixed solutions and natural water by means of hydrogels sorption are provided. Copolymer acrylic hydrogels and agar-agar were used. It was found that sorption of heavy metals occurs synchronously with the hydrogels swelling. The efficiency of heavy metals removal (up to 99% for individual solutions with the 2 mM concentration, and up to 95% for natural water) and strength of its retention are maximum for copolymers of acrylamide and acrylic acid.
