Abstract

An efficient process for the selective removal and recovery of antimony and bismuth from copper tankhouse electrolytes by means of solvent extraction has been demonstrated. This new process uses a new ligand, DS5834, developed by ZENECA Specialties and incorporates a novel stripping procedure. The same stripping procedure has also been used to regenerate chelating resins currently used at certain refineries which allows much greater efficiency in operation by improved recovery of the impurities.
