Abstract

Existing methods for inactivation of angiotensinase were studied but proved to be ineffective. Removal of the cell fragments and microsomes of a kidney extract by gentle homogenization and ultracentrifugation, combined with Cu-ion treatment of the supernatant fluid, inactivated the angiotensinases. By this procedure the renin loss was about 30%.
