Abstract

This work presents an autonomous remote sensor measurement system to monitor structural change detection. We utilized a portable network analyzer as a core component of a ground-based synthetic aperture radar to achieve structural monitoring. First, we realized a 2-meter rail apparatus, where antennas and radio frequency components of the radar can move, to obtain a synthetic radar aperture. Then, we develop signal processing algorithms to obtain radar images and to perform change detection. Although the range resolution of our system is 15 cm due to the frequency bandwidth of the radar, we have successfully developed an interferometric change detection technique to achieve up to 440μm change detection of the monitored structure.
