Abstract

Various remote sensing measures, particularly monitoring, in support of the planning and operation of reclamation systems are described. Particular emphasis is placed on monitoring the condition of irrigated and drained lands, determination of soil moisture content in areas of excess or deficient water, ascertaining depth and mineralization of ground water, the effective construction and management of irrigation systems, general environmental protection and resource conservation functions, and inputs into the formulation of planning guidelines.
