Abstract
This research project is focused on designing and developing a system that can remotely monitor the status of earthquake or fire, and initiate safety measures to reduce damage. The persons residing in a building can be alerted with the alarm and electric power cut. With timely in-house and remote detection of earthquake or fire, location of ignition and automatic isolation of electric line upon detection of fire, lives can be saved and external help can be sent effectively. The system is based on Arduino Uno board equipped with Microcontroller ATmega328p which processes the environmental signals obtained from vibration and fire sensors. The processed signal is then uploaded to Adafruit.io website via ESP8266 Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) module. In the event of an earthquake and fire, Arduino Uno board switches off the relay and isolates the main electric line to eliminate the risk of fire and electric damage.
