Abstract

Internet of thing (IoT) has its ubiquitous presence in almost all the sectors of human lives. An abrupt change with the invasion of IoT in various sectors enhanced the quality of service offered to the people. Even though IoT has a positive impact in the everyday life, resource wastage (power and bandwidth) remains an uncontrollable factor. Owing to this, Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT), a greener version of IoT is been introduced by 3 rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). NB-IoT has been standardized and a lot of proposals have been put forward to implement NB-IoT for industrial assets since it is a Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) network. The perfect harmony of NB-IoT with LTE enhances their ability to coexist and in turn, makes it advisable for the industrial applications. The mechanism of remote monitoring of water level in the storage tanks using NB-IoT can provide valuable insights on networks and resources. This article contains the arrangement of remote monitoring of Real Time Data (RTD) of water level using NB-IoT and the transmission of measured RTD over narrow band frequency.
