Abstract

The ambient background concentration of N(2)O has been measured with a differential-absorption lidar using a DF laser in multiline operation. Return signals from topographic targets at distances up to 8 km were detected. An abundance level of 0.29-ppm N(2)O was observed, in good agreement with previous in situ measurements.
