Abstract
In an effort to promote collaborative, multidisciplinary research using remote sensing and observation system science, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and the Scripps Institution for Oceanography are forming a “virtual” center to increase collaboration between scientists and graduate students. The Joint Center for Observation System Science (JCOSS) will link researchers at Goddard's Earth Science Directorate with their counterparts at Scripps for studies of the climate, oceanography, hydrology, and natural hazards.
