Abstract

The connection between time correlation and retarded, advanced and thermodynamic Green's functions is discussed in a systematic way. The occurrence of a time-independent contribution to the time correlation function is connected to the Green's function defined by η=1, and a simple rule is given for its calculation when a suitable decoupling is available.
