Abstract

The correlation expected between the ..sigma.. spin and the positron momentum in the decay ..sigma../sup 0/ ..-->.. ..lambda.. + e/sup +/ + e/sup -/ is presented for three distinct gauge models. We show that a measurement of this correlation effect may help to distinguish between the standard Weinberg-Salam model and models in which the electron's neutral-current coupling is pure vector or in which parity is conserved by all neutral currents in lowest order.
