Abstract

In order to study information transfer in physiological systems, one method is used very frequently. This method consists in the determination of systems frequency characteristics on application of sinusoidal stimulation signals. Unfortunately a biological systems theory does not exist yet and the application of the methods of general systems theory to biological systems is limited and not always satisfactory. Generally biological systems are frequency-dependent nonlinear systems and a big number of biological systems, especially the brain system exhibit spontaneous rhythmic activities which makes the problem much more complicated. The aim of this study is to try to find some approaches which will offer new possibilities for interpretation in the analysis of brain systems (or biological systems in general).
