Abstract

An analytical solution representing the interaction of a macrocrack with a collinear microcrack is re-examined. The purpose of the analysis is to separate the singular term and to represent the remaining part of the solution as a bounded function in the form of a uniformly convergent power series. Some aspects of the solution in application to fracture development in composites are discussed.
