Abstract

No objection is raised to Dr. Howe's result on the failure of the u-measure as a check on the standard of C or similar measures of magnetic activity. But the merits of u as a measure for post-perturbation are upheld, and the relations between K-indices and u are discussed. A current continuation of certain tables by Vestine on postperturbation is proposed, including an improvement of u.
