Abstract
Based on the analysis of Tate and generalized Tate cohomology in abelian categories, in this note, we consider the balance for Tate and generalized Tate cohomology. Some existing results are generalized and some applications in the category of modules are given. We also consider the balance for Tate and generalized Tate homology in broader sense.
