Abstract

The analysis of spinor electrodynamics, performed by Johnson, Willey and Baker, is examined by use of the renormalization group. It is concluded that the vanishing of the coefficient of the term proportional to log ( m M ) in Z 3 −1 is necessary, but not sufficient, for Z 3 −1 to be finite. The mass assumption of the renormalization group is discussed, and explicitly verified through sixth order.
