Abstract

Hollow silica nanospheres containing iridium particles were synthesized by the Ir(NH3)6Cl3aq/NP-6/cyclohexane reversed micelle system. Hydrolysis of TEOS surrounding Ir(NH3)6Cl3 produced hollows which can absorb hydrogen under ambient conditions.
