Abstract

We perform an explicit evaluation of the disjoining pressure in a free soap film, using a complete set of conditions for mechanical equilibrium. The disjoining pressure includes pressure jumps both across the film surfaces, due to van der Waals interactions, and across the film/meniscus transition zone, due to the change of electrolytic composition.
