Abstract
We present a neutron scattering study of ${\mathrm{Eu}}_{0.54}$${\mathrm{Sr}}_{0.46}$S in magnetic fields $H\ensuremath{\le}60$ mT. The Bragg intensity is history dependent in both the ferromagnetic (FM) and spin-glass (SG) regimes. The FM and SG regimes are distinct in that the spin fluctuations are history dependent only in the SG regime. The latter effect is very dramatic: cooling to 0.5 K in a 41-mT field and then setting $H=0$ results in a magnetic correlation length of less than 65 \AA{}, well below the zero-field-cooled value of 140 \AA{}.
