Abstract
Profiles IAS member Carson Bates. Growing up during a time when computers and electronics were at the forefront of developing technology, Bates, like many others of his generation, was fascinated by computers. He attended the Colorado School of Mines in Golden to pursue a degree in electrical engineering with the intention of specializing in electronic circuits and microprocessor design. This plan changed after he attended an IEEE Industrial Applications Society (IAS)- sponsored student Chapter luncheon held at the Colorado School of Mines.
