Abstract

This article addresses three main issues concerning the religious jurisdictions and ecclesiastical justice in Greece: (a) how religious communities resolve disputes amongst the faithful within them; (b) how the State deals with religious disputes (through legislation and case-law and through systems of mediation and arbitration); (c) the view of religious communities on the approach of the State to religious disputes and public debate on this.
