Abstract

With adoption secularism in 'Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2008' a brisk accumulation into Christianity by from Hindu and Buddhist was observed. I encountered the constructions of 20 church buildings around the perimeter of 10 km and total 2000 individuals affiliated in these churches (mandali in Nepali) within the time of 1 year. Some of them were my neighbors too. This event made me curious to know what is the charming of Christianity over indigenous religions. Since, I engaged in chatting to a dozen of conversant to explore the causes of conversion and explain the phenomenon. Portray of two such cases have been selectively included here for the analysis. These cases suggest religious conversion in Nepal is a voyage from superstition to liberation for what idea Paulo Freire (1972) explains.
