Abstract

AbstractThe divine emblem in the Liangzhu culture is a relatively mature image of the deity, and the carving of the divine emblem can be boiled down to four types. Besides, it can be seen from bird designs and jade bird sculptures in the round that some birds once played a crucial role in the witchcraft of the Liangzhu culture. In the sites of the Liangzhu culture, dragon head motifs can also be found on round decorative jade tablets, small jade rings, jade huang, jade bracelets, jade sculpture partly in the round, jade sculptures in the round, jade tubes, cylindrical jade vessel, awl-shaped jade artifacts, and three-pronged jade artifact. In addition, through bow-shaped divine crowns and eyes in the Hemudu culture and the Liangzhu culture, the jade prayers and oblique-mouthed cylindrical objects in the Hongshan culture and the Lingjiatan culture, and the connecting jade rings from the Hongshan culture, the Lingjiatan culture and the Dawenkou culture, we can have a better understanding of the close relationship among the deity in the Hongshan culture and the Longshan culture in Shandong.KeywordsDivine emblemBird designJade birdDragon head motifThe Hongshan cultureThe Longshan culture
