Abstract

This research looks to further elucidate the nature of religion and activism amongst LGBTQ+ elders of color. Semi-structured interviews (n = 10) from a larger national research project were used as the primary data source for this study. Conflict theory and Black Feminist theory were employed as theoretical frameworks. Three themes emerged from the research. First, how elders of color have maintained their connections to faith; second, how they use religious spaces as sites of resistance for radical inclusivity; and third, how they employ religious spaces to develop queer leaders.
