Abstract

The findings presented in this text are based on the data collected in the empirical research called "Cultural Orientations, Ethnic Distance and Culture of Peace in Serbia and the Balkans". The starting premise was that religious, confessional and ethnic identification is an important factor in self-identification, and identification of the subjects. Namely, confession, as well as religious and ethnic affilliation give meaning to human existence and perception of other people as members of gruops, which can be evaluated differently depending on these factors. Religious, confessional, and ethnic affilliation were treated as independent variables, whereas self-identification and identification were treated as dependent variables.
