Abstract

This paper provides an important use of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method that has helped to identify important wind blades criteria and alternative performance, suitable for isolated region, performance expressed through composite materials properties. Specifically, AHP algorithm identifies optimal composite materials combination for blade structure that must strictly respect unique technical parameters. An impediment in providing composite materials is given by the restriction of supply chain collaboration, that propagates negative orders for the necessary raw materials, fiber glass and carbon fiber used in manufacturing wind blades. The use of Drum-Buffer-Rope (DBR) philosophy, has streamlined to dimension a buffer stock for the movement of fiber glass in the chain, in which was reduced assembly time of the blades in the wind farm, but also the duration of the implementation project.
