Abstract
ABSTRACT This paper summarizes the technology of relief well drilled in China. In recent years, four relief wells have been drilled, the distances of which to the target are 3.81m, 6.84m, 4.45m and 2.29m respectively. "Three Section" profile for the relief well is recommended. The drift of well path should be controlled within 10m from the target point before hitting the target. The final azimuth correction should coincide with the closed azimuth line of the blowout well, and then a tracking method is used to drill towards the target area, so as to achieve the goal by communicating two wells and killing the blowout well.
