Abstract
This study analyzes the manufacture and the history of ‘freehand’ relief decorations, ‘modeln gepresste, Stuckornament’ and ‘applique relief brocades’, whether continuous or partial, the fatty kind made of wax or the lean kind composed of chalk and glue. Specific treatment for each technique are described: preliminary study, uitable fixatives, approved cleaning products, retouching method and finally the problem of surface treatment.
