Abstract

A preliminary study is presented to demonstrate the reliability of panoramic radiographs in the detection of maxillary sinus pathosis. The study was conducted by having a series of Panorex radiographs and Water's view radiographs of normal persons and persons with diagnosed sinusitis evaluated in random order by selected reviewers. The study indicates that the Panorex radiograph can be of value in the detection of sinus fluid and thickened sinus membrane.
