Abstract

To identify empirical groupings of reinforcers a cluster analysis of the Reinforcement Survey Schedule (RSS) was performed on data from 313 subjects who had taken the RSS and had been retested 1, 3, or 5 wk later. Thirteen clusters were found in each group. Test-retest reliabilities of cluster scores ranged from .40 to .91 and internal consistency reliabilities ranged from −.09 to .93. Results indicate that it may be fruitful to pursue the development of cluster scales of reinforcers for use in therapy.
