Abstract

A random variable X follows the skew-Laplace distribution if its pdf is f ( x ) = 2 g ( x ) G ( λ x ) , where g ( · ) and G ( · ) denote pdf and cdf of the standard Laplace distribution. We study different characteristics of truncated from the left at zero skew-Laplace distribution. The reliability of this model is compared with a two-parameter Gamma model.
