Abstract

One of the topics of discussion at the January 1976 meeting of the Working Group on Dynamic System Performance was the reliability criteria for system design as specified by the National Electric Reliability Council (NERC) and the Council's regional design review committees. The Working Group discussion occurred just after the 10th anniversary of the November 1965 "Northeast Blackout." It seemed appropriate at that time to review the events of the intervening decade and evaluate the progress made in assuring adequate system design for dynamic performance.
