Abstract
Objective To evaluate the reliability and validity of Childhood Autism Rating Scale(CARS)and Autism Behaviour Checklist(ABC)in our clinical practise. Methods The study examined the reliability of CARS and ABC with the Cronbach's α coeffieient and mean inter-item correlation(MIIC),analysed the constructive and criterion-related validity of CARS and ABC with the principle component analysis and the correlation. Results Cronbach α coefficients of CARS and ABC were 0.781 and 0.810 respectively,MIIC was 0.324 and 0.254.The principal component analysis of the CARS items identified that the scale had five main factors, which explained 73.00%of the total variance. The principal component analysis of the ABC items identified that the scale had 19 main factors,of which 5 main factors only explained the 38.9%of the total variance.Condmion Both CARS and ABC have good reliability and validity. Key words: Autism; Scale; Reliability; Validity
