Abstract

This paper deals with reliability and MTTF analysis of a non-repairable parallel redundant complex system, i.e. a power plant. The object of the power plant is to supply power generated by the four generators to a very critical destination connected by a transformer, cables and switches. The reliability and MTTF of the power plant have been evaluated by Boolean function (BF) technique. The failure times of various components follow arbitrary distribution. A numerical example along with graphs on reliability and MTTF have also been given at the end to forecast the operable behaviour of the system at any time.
