Abstract
ABSTRACT In this study, the reliability analysis on impact failure energy of fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) under drop hammer test was statistically commanded using Weibull distribution. For this purpose, crimped and hooked end steel fibres at 0.5%, 1.0%, and 1.5% volume fractions with an aspect ratio of 50 were used. Seven mixes were prepared correspondingly and for each mix a total of 10 specimens were tested under drop hammer impact test as per ACI committee 544 guidelines. Also, a statistical investigation was conducted using graphical method, least-squares (LS) regression of Y on X and LS of X on Y for determining the Weibull parameters. Based on the estimated Weibull parameters, the impact failure energy was reported in terms of reliability. Results indicated that the graphical method and LS Y on X method performed well than the LS X on Y to determine the Weibull parameters.
