Abstract

This article describes the development over the last six years of a Community Leadership Program in Israel that has succeeded in training retired executives and placing them in leadership roles in the area of social welfare. The program was launched in 1990 as the joint effort of Yakir, a service oriented nonprofit association, and the Bar-Ilan Program in Applied Gerontology, a lifelong learning program based at Bar-Ilan University.
