Release of the Rice Variety Dama Developed by Haploid Somaclone Breeding

Abstract

In May 1992, on the basis of data from nationwide experiments lasting 3 years, the National Council for Variety Qualification registered a new rice variety in Hungary, improved by the use of the Haploid Somaclone Method (HSM) with the name Dama (Heszky and Simon-Kiss 1992).
