Abstract

In May 1992, on the basis of data from nationwide experiments lasting 3 years, the National Council for Variety Qualification registered a new rice variety in Hungary, improved by the use of the Haploid Somaclone Method (HSM) with the name Dama (Heszky and Simon-Kiss 1992). This new rice variety is the product of more than 10 years of research and cooperation between the Rice Breeding Section (Irrigation Research Institute of Szarvas, Hungary) and the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding (University of Agricultural Sciences, Gödöllö, Hungary).KeywordsPloidy LevelRice VarietyCallus InductionSomaclonal VariationHaploid PlantThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
