Abstract
In this paper, a new technique for process identification in the frequency domain is proposed. A relay-based test is adopted and it can effectively excite processes at multiple points. As a result, the process frequency responses can be accurately estimated from one test using Fourier analysis method. The method doesn't require a priori knowledge of the process. Simulation examples on various processes give quite accurate process frequency responses in the important frequency range for system analysis and control design.
