Abstract

The relaxor behaviour of the (Pb 0.8Ba 0.2)[(Zn 1/3Nb 2/3) 0.7Ti 0.3]O 3 ferroelectric ceramic is presented. A strong dispersion of the maximum of the dielectric permittivity ( ε′) below the transition temperature ( T m) is observed, which shift towards higher temperatures with increasing frequency. There is a strong deviation from the Curie–Weiss law. The results are fitted by using the Volger–Fulcher relationship, showing typical behaviour of a spin glass system. The hysteresis loops suggest relaxor behaviour.
