Abstract

Dense random packing models of Ichikawa with k=1.2 and k=1.4 have been relaxed using Johnston's potential for iron. The experimental pair distribution function of amorphous iron is in quite good agreement with the relaxed model of k=1.2. The results show that the relaxed structures are nearly the same and do not depend so strongly on the tetrahedral perfection k.
