Abstract

Luminescence from KCl:I and RbCl:I has been investigated. It is found that two different types of relaxed exciton states coexist with a potential barrier between them. The one is (ICl - + e)-state of two- center type. The other is one-center type, where an electron-hole pair is located mainly on the site of central iodine ion.
