Abstract

This paper presents the teaching experiences of oral health coordinators and three teachers in a distance specialization course for teams in the Family Health Strategy and their perceptions about the development of the discipline. A final report was prepared together with the participants. The participants concluded that the development of the discipline of oral health provided an opportunity for the dentists participating in the Family Health Strategy to reflect on a broader concept of health and contributed to the planning of their territorial activities. In this sense, the training, which used a virtual learning platform, reflected the idea that the goal of education should be to create a dialogue between teachers and students so that the needs and knowledge of different subjects can be integrated into collective concepts in a sharedknowledge construction process.
