Abstract

The electromagnetic field due to a localized charge-current distribution is expanded in terms of a set of multiple moments defined with respect to a given time-like world line. The behaviour of this expansion in the asymptotic region is studied, leading to the identification of the radiation field. It is shown that the radiation field is a null field.
