Abstract

The $f$ values for the ${\mathrm{np}}^{6}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\mathrm{np}}^{5}(n+1)s$ dipole transitions of neon, argon, krypton, and xenon are studied using relativistic many-body perturbation theory. The contributions from the correlation corrections of single and pair excitations are calculated to all orders. It is hoped that the present work may help to distinguish among the considerable variety of experimental and theoretical values presently available.
