Abstract

High energy electron acceleration in a wake field generated in theintense ultrashort (30 fs) laser pulse cluster gas jet interaction isexperimentally demonstrated. Relativistic electrons with energy of60 MeV were observed. These high energy electrons split into twobeams due to the relativistic self-focusing of the laser.
