Abstract

The relative intensities of gamma transitions in the W 182 and W 183 nuclie have been measured with an accuracy of 5% using a bent-crystal gamma-ray spectrometer. A careful analysis of the various corrections applied was made. With only minor exceptions the results are in good agreement with results obtained by other experimenters subssntaining thje technique for measuring precisely gamma ray intensities with a bent-ccrystal spectrometer. The gamma ray branching ratios in W 183 obtained in this experiment serve as a basis for a band mixing analysis to be described in the following paper.
