Abstract

Adult confused flour beetles, Tribolium confusum Jacquelin duVal; adult cigarette beetles, Lasioderma serricorne (F.); and larvae of the black carpet beetle, Attagenus megatoma (F.); were treated topically with pyrethrins plus Tropital (piperonyl bis[2-(2-butoxyethoxy) ethyl] acetal) or with pyrethrins plus piperonyl butoxide. In general, pyrethrins plus piperonyl butoxide was more effective than pyrethrins plus Tropital as a direct-contact toxicant against the test insects.
