Abstract

A two-point statistical model based on the kinetic equation for the probability density function (PDF) of relative velocity is used to perform analysis of relative dispersion of inertial particles in isotropic turbulence. It is demonstrated that, in the case of highly inertial particles, the Richardson law for dispersion may be valid only in the case of very high values of the Reynolds number.
