Abstract

The correlation between actual performances of double cross hybnds and mean values of corresponding measurements obtained for single crosses produced among parenta, 1 four strains were examined in the silkworm, in order to evaluate the possibility of prediction of double cross performance frorn the single cross data. It was found that the correlations were high for some traits such as cocoon shell percentage, raw silk percentage, Iength of cocoon filarnent and size of cocoon filament, but they were low for others such as pupation rate, cocoon yield and reelability.
