Abstract
1. 1. Sera from 6 species of sheep ( Ovis), 2 species of goats ( Capra), and the aoudad ( Ammotragus lervia) were compared by an immunological technique adapted for computer analysis, using nine antisera representing all genera. 2. 2. The serum proteins were virtually indistinguishable at the intrageneric level. 3. 3. The three genera representing the tribe Caprini were clearly differentiated by their proteins although antigenetic differences among them are strikingly less than morphological, behavioral, and karyotypic differences. 4. 4. Antigenic affinities demonstrate a closer relationship between Ovis and Capra than between either of these and Ammotragus.
